Checklists are one of the most simple yet satisfying forms of content. The simple joy that comes from checking off a section of a checklist is such an easy way to celebrate the little things. Celebrating the completion of smaller accomplishments is a leading guide to the completion of larger goals.
Uncommon to the natural mind, a to do list does not have to consist of big assignments, tasks, or projects. Small things like waking up, eating breakfast, brushing teeth, and completing self care can be added to a checklist.
Do it. Add it.
Simply getting the satisfaction of checking off a to do list can change the course of a day. Every thing, no matter how big or small, deserves to be celebrated, and that celebration can come through the simple task of marking off a to do list.
Wake Up: Check
Make Bed: Check
Drink Water: Check
Make a Packing List: Check
Homework: Check
World Domination: Check
Consistency is Key
Each and everyday we naturally complete similar tasks to those of the day before. The great thing about a checklist is, it never needs to change. A checklist can change daily based on activities, tasks, and goals for the day, but one list can stay the same day in and day out: a self care checklist. Using a self care checklist means everyday you can track the things you do and get the celebration for the little things.
Make yourself proud. Celebrate the little things. And don't forget, the next thing on your to-do list is to make a to-do list!
